Ring-necked Duck again in south west arm this afternoon loosely associating, sometimes very loosely with male Tufted Duck. Only other birds of note couple of Little Grebes and 3 Teal in middle of reservoir.
At Wimbleball late afternoon amongst large numbers at gull roost, 182 adult Lesser Black - backed Gulls, and many immatures. Also, 16 Goosander near the dam.
Ring -Necked duck still present between 10.45-11.30 this morning and was tucked right around the SW corner down past the fishing lodge and around
Drake Ring-necked Duck still 14.00-15.00 moving up and down the
south-west arm. 2 Tawny Owls gave brief calls and a pair of
Jay being very vocal
Later several Brambling with chaffinch flock at Browns Lane
The Ring-necked Duck still present in the SW arm of Clatworthy Reservoir this morning at ST033307. It is not visible from the approach road, if you want to see it you will need to walk around the southern end to view this arm of the reservoir.
Still several Brambling along Brown Lane with large flocks of Chaffinch.
And still there this late morning. A 20 min walk from the entrance gate near the car park, and stiff (for me) uphill return walk.
In place this morning around 11am.
Showed well in open water in the Southern arm of the reservoir then moved under the far bank diving frequently.
Well worth a walk through lying and falling snow.
Still present mid afternoon with male tufted duck in south west arm again.
