Yesterday 4.30pm a male Ring Necked Duck. Accompanying a male Tufted very closely. Seen in the south west finger of the reservoir south west of the yatcht club. Very little other wildfowl about so rather obvious in middle of water.

But no sign of it or its companion this afternoon before and after a 30min snow storm (brrrr). Only waterbirds were some 20 Canada's and 7 Mallards.
Apparently, it was seen at around 15:00 while we were there, but must have been out of our sight (on the access road to the viewing point) in the extreme narrow southern arm of the reservoir that hooks-back northwards.
On the map it looks a longish walk around the perimeter track and is out of reach for my wife Kay.
Ring-necked Duck again in south west arm this afternoon loosely associating, sometimes very loosely with male Tufted Duck. Only other birds of note couple of Little Grebes and 3 Teal in middle of reservoir.
At Wimbleball late afternoon amongst large numbers at gull roost, 182 adult Lesser Black - backed Gulls, and many immatures. Also, 16 Goosander near the dam.
Drake Ring-necked Duck still 14.00-15.00 moving up and down the
south-west arm. 2 Tawny Owls gave brief calls and a pair of
Jay being very vocal
Later several Brambling with chaffinch flock at Browns Lane
The Ring-necked Duck still present in the SW arm of Clatworthy Reservoir this morning at ST033307. It is not visible from the approach road, if you want to see it you will need to walk around the southern end to view this arm of the reservoir.
Still several Brambling along Brown Lane with large flocks of Chaffinch.
