Fourty Nine Years Ago Today
I was only twenty-three months and ten days old. I later remember my Grandmother telling about the train ride from Mississippi to Philadelphia, and how proud she was to see her son, a plankowner, on the newest ship, commissioned the Kitty Hawk.

Navy Unit Commendation 1972
I am looking to get a copy of the citation for Kitty Hawk's Navy Unit Commendation for 1972. When I had my records corrected, I asked for the citation, but did not receive it. Does anyone know where I could find it published or available online?

i remember that young man that was killed he was sent down to side cleaners,as was the deal then when we were in port. i was a BM-3 in the 5th division,we had a bunch of air men from v-1-2-3 doing there time with the side cleaners when in port only. kind of strange...

medical waste
In 1988 I was the Police Chief in Flagler Beach, Fl. when a large amount of medical waste appeared on our beach. A month long investigation in Sept. 1988 showed that the medical waste came from the KITTY HAWK. Question where was the HAWK headed to in the Fall of 1988?
