Greylake.

Heard on Somerset sound this morning that the hides at RSPB Greylake are open again as most of the wasps have left, or been drowned. I know I will be gad to get out ther again.

Re: Greylake.

Hello, I spent a couple of hours this afternoon at Greylake in glorious sunshine.

Lovely to see the hides open and there has been a lot of work recently clearing back the reeds and pollarding willows, so many thanks to all involved.

Highlights were:
2 Peregrines sitting in the dead tree over to the right hand side
1 buzzard sitting on a post
1 Marsh Harrier passing through and putting up a small flock of Wigeon in front of the hide
Kingfisher
Large flock of Lapwing in flight
Large flock of Starlings.
A large flock of Dunlin ( I think) ..... In the far off distance.

3 Roe Deer

And sadly a dead stoat.

Robin

Also no sign of the cranes at Stathe this afternoon.

Re: Greylake.

Even sadder than the dead Stoat, a dead Otter on the main road outside RSPB Greylake this morning, obviously road kill. Gutted.
