Goosander Roost

My first Goosander Roost count of this winter at Wimbleball 1700-1730 viewed off the Dam resulted in 18 Redheads and
3 Males,numbers in the coming weeks hopefully should build,on my walk back up to the carpark a couple of Tawny owls were heard

Yesterday the goosesander roost was 39 with 34 redheads and 5 males a single woodcock flew over also 100 canada greese 19 little grebes 54 lesser back gulls 50 mallard otherwise duck numbers were low
Clatworthy only a flock of 50 chaffinch and 2 little grebes
Last weekend around Porlock and Porlockmarsh 2 blackredstarts 10 brentgreese 2 med gulls 9 little ergets 11 have been reported 3 waterails 2 flush 6 snipe teal 70 wigeon 7 linnett flock 70 also a mute swan and kingfisher good numbers of pipit both meadow and rock and a wader which look good for a pectoral sandpiper but it kept out of view at long range ,Porlockmarsh a bit like years ago
