Westhay Moor 25th September

As I put on my boots in the car park this morning I heard some excited pinging and looked up to see four Bearded Tits disappearing from view. I needn't have worried; the area to the right of the track between the car park and the hides echoed with further pinging as they flew around exuberantly. I counted at least eight and there were quite possibly more both here and from the open platform past the hides.
Here, a female Marsh Harrier put in an all too brief appearance and, from the raised hide along the cross-path loop, two Kingfishers sat side-by-side and made a lovely picture.
A really pleasant couple of hours in the most benign conditions.
