Seawatching

Off Burnham this morning (0700-0945; from 0745-0900 with Paul Gay):

Leach's Petrel 1-2 0750 and 0850 (2nd bird too brief and distant to be sure)
Storm Petrel 1-2 0825 and 0835 (two close sightings, could be same or diff birds)
Grey Phalarope 1 flew past c0735
Arctic Skua 1 rather greyish juvenile at c0830 (not Long-tailed,sadly)
Black Tern 3
Sandwich Tern 2 (ad and juv)
Manx - lots - not sure exactly how many as birds were evidently milling about but min 20-30 and probably more

Rog Musgrove had a similar selection off Steart, some of which from timings are almost certainly the same birds, others definitely different (he had 2 definite Leach's, for instance, and Common Scoter and Fulmar not seen from Burnham). Brian Hill also saw a Leach's off Huntspill Sea Wall, which probably matches up with our definite and Rog's 2nd one, but also could be a different bird entirely.
