Greylake - Wasps

There is a well signposted Wasp nest on the path down to the two hides and I passed the nest entrance at first light this morning without any problems. However, the wasps around the new Tree Top hide are far more aggressive. Without provocation I was stung 3 times. It may have been because I was there in the cold of the early morning. Anyway I held my ground and the wasps gave up.

It was all worth it because I was rewarded with some lovely close views of a Kingfisher on the pond when walking back to the car.

So take care if you visit Greylake, the wasps mean business and they are far more aggressive than the male Swan!!
