Spoonbill at WWT Steart Marshes

This morning (Sunday 20th July) the spoonbill was found by Simon Fairweather on Otterhampton Marshes and then later seen roosting in the scrape across Steart Marshes north of the Polden Hide where it remained for most of the day. This area is viewable from the screening north of the Polden Hide and is best accessed from the WWT main car park on Stert Drove.

Also of note adult and 2nd summer Mediterranean gulls recorded roosting with large & steadily increasing flock of black-headed gulls since last week - best viewed to south from bank at WWT Steart Gate car park
