Alan, almost certainly too early for 2015 Hobbies just yet. Young should have recently hatched for fledging second week of August. Perhaps non-breeding 2014 birds you saw?

Alan, there were at least 4 imm.birds, (the brown backed variety, 2cy) feeding over the area this morning and we have been seeing 2 or 3 on a regular basis. I agree with Nigel , too early for this year's young.
