A large high tide roost of Black-headed Gulls(>2000)on WWT Steart Marsh adjacent to the borrow pit on Wall Common has been attracting Mediterranean Gulls and this afternoon at least five birds were present - 4 adults and one second summer. High tides are late afternoon at the moment and the flock collects at least one hour before and after high water.

I counted 6 second summers and 2 ads tonight before the roost was spooked by a Buzzard - so at least 8 Meds amongst what is probably 3000 Black-headeds.
