Spotted Flycatcher seen feeding young in Merriott. (Only ever seen one once before.) Must try and get a better picture . They are nesting in the roof of a barn adjacent to a nearby stream. There are also a nesting pair of Grey Wagtails in the same barn.
Saw one near the Ham Wall car park last Sunday, by the way...
I expect that they are easily dismissed at a distance as just another lbj by novices like me but even at 25M it caught my eye and luckily my 42x zoom just managed to record it.
Spotted Flycatcher at Ham Wall yesterday evening. Feeding from wires near the main entrance gate.
I must be lucky, several round my home near brompton regis exmoor, not as many as last year though.love that snapping sound
One seen today in the grounds of Street Youth Hostel where there was also a Marsh Tit
Struggled to find them at previous locations and beginning to think I wouldn't see any this year but managed to track a pair down outside main entrance to (private) Compton Castle near Compton Pauncefoot.
