Despite a misty start a great day mainly for migratory songbirds - the highlights being :
4 Grasshopper Warblers
2 Wood Warblers
3 Pied Flycatchers
2 Grey Wagtails
2 Tree Pipits
1 GS Woodpecker
1 Green Woodpecker
Numerous Willow Warblers, Buzzards, & Swallows heading north.
Areas visited: Dunkery via Rex Stile path; East Water to Aller Combe; Chetsford Water to Embercombe, & Horner Wood via Pool Bridge.
Forget to add at least 3 pairs of Stonechat around the moor and also a male Reed Bunting at Chetsford Water.
Also took some photos of a first-summer male Pied Flycatcher with a metal ring on its right leg. It hadn't wasted much time and had seemingly attracted a female who had already chosen her nest box!
