Migrants at Brue/Parrett/Huntspill

Great morning walk at high tide produced at least 13 (probably more than 20) Whimbrels, my first Whitethroat of the year (singing in bushes on south side of Huntspill Sluice, 3 House Martins, 1 Avocet and at least 4 Wheatears along the path near the end of he Brue.

On the other side of the river at Steart Point, from 7am-10.30am :
Whimbrel 26
Bar-tailed Godwit 16
Distant "Commic" Tern 15 (8& 7)- all up-channel
Whitethroat 2
Lesser Whitethroat 1 - at the bottom of Phil Edwards` garden
Blackcap 2
Willow Warbler 2
At 9.50am 4 Arctic Skuas flew past the Point and off high up the Brue.
