As Uphill is in the Avon recording area can you please ensure the full details get sent to the Avon bird recorder; there are only two other records for the last 30 years.
Thanks it did catch me off guard a little as i had to look it up in a reference book, just goes to show odd things turn up when the migration is on,so eyes pealed fellow watchers
Members should note that Birdguides is reporting this sighting as a hoax, as they have stated that the footage listed in the posting above bears an uncanny resemblance to another clip of Serin on YouTube taken elsewhere previously. The clip listed here has been removed from YouTube by the user since the Birdguides message on Twitter.
Birdguides tweet is as follows:
'Appears today's Somerset Serin was fictional compare https://youtu.be/oGOIbMSEYYc with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOXfePhYGaU … #hoax'
Well. Footage removed. Seen the vid that was allegedly cribbed. Lots of calling Bee Eaters, Nightingale song. Another singing Serin. Plus the usual Chaffinch & Chiffchaff. Seems a lot of us missed a good morning at Uphill! Some of that sun would've been nice as well! ;)
