A drive around Tealham moor this evening produced 1 flyover Great White Egret, 3 Little egrets and one escaped Swan Goose accompanying a Greylag.
An hour in the Viridor hide at Westhay before dark was productive with a superb Water Vole swimming across the right hand channel and into the reeds. Plenty of Water rail activity and one booming bittern showed well on the edge of the reeds in the middle channel.
Just outside the reserve another excellent mammal in the form of a Hare, which ran along the road and eventually towards the windmill at the back of the raised bog.
