A late morning visit in the sunshine produced a couple of surprises

1 Slavonian Grebe
2m+f Common Scoter

plus

m+f Scaup
11 Tufted Duck
8 Pochard
8 Wigeon
1 Shoveler

At least 11 Chiffchaffs in song.

Grebe, Scaup and Scoters were just south of Cheddar tower at mid-day.

Slavonian Grebe and 2 Scaup still present this morning, but not the Scoter. Also a single Goosander and 2 Peregrine.

A mid pm visit yesterday,the pr of Scaup were close in giving scope filling views j south of the north tower,the slavonian was with coots just up from the south tower,nice to hear several chiffs singing too in the sunshine.

Slavonian Grebe and 2 Scaup present this morning,at 9.30 close to a large white buoy.

2 Scaup (male and female) still present between West Tower and Car Park, along with the Slavonian Grebe last PM today.

23/03/2015 Slavonian Grebe at Cheddar Reservoir, was close in at the Axbridge end mid morning.Scaup at Cheddar end.

Slav Grebe and M&F Scaup still off the Axbridge tower end of the reservoir this morning, not far from the entrance ramp.

Slav Grebe showing very well from Axbridge entrance at 3.30pm too! Lovely orange tinge to its eyebrows!

Slavonian Grebe and 2 Scaup in the same place this morning. 2 Goosander, 2 Wigeon and 2 Shoveler also present.

Slavonian Grebe near Axbridge Tower, early afternoon, but no sign of any Scaup.

Slavonian Grebe still present at 6.45am today.

still in attendance this AM, also a Little owl in the large tree adjacent to the pumping station..... it won the stare me out contest!!
