Re: Clatworthy Reservoir

Apparently, it was seen at around 15:00 while we were there, but must have been out of our sight (on the access road to the viewing point) in the extreme narrow southern arm of the reservoir that hooks-back northwards.
On the map it looks a longish walk around the perimeter track and is out of reach for my wife Kay.

Re: Clatworthy Reservoir

Ring-necked Duck again in south west arm this afternoon loosely associating, sometimes very loosely with male Tufted Duck. Only other birds of note couple of Little Grebes and 3 Teal in middle of reservoir.

At Wimbleball late afternoon amongst large numbers at gull roost, 182 adult Lesser Black - backed Gulls, and many immatures. Also, 16 Goosander near the dam.

The Ring-necked Duck still present in the SW arm of Clatworthy Reservoir this morning at ST033307. It is not visible from the approach road, if you want to see it you will need to walk around the southern end to view this arm of the reservoir.
Still several Brambling along Brown Lane with large flocks of Chaffinch.

And still there this late morning. A 20 min walk from the entrance gate near the car park, and stiff (for me) uphill return walk.

Re: Clatworthy Reservoir

In place this morning around 11am.

Showed well in open water in the Southern arm of the reservoir then moved under the far bank diving frequently.

Well worth a walk through lying and falling snow.

Re: Clatworthy Reservoir

Still present mid afternoon with male tufted duck in south west arm again.
