A drake Ring-necked Duck at Ashford Reservoir this afternoon amongst a flock of 82 Tufted Duck. Others birds included a Little Egret which is a WeBS count first for here as was a Water Rail. Probably best to park in the layby just off the A39 and walk the 800m and view the reservoir from the footpath that runs along the south side

No sign of it today, either before or after the Steart field meeting, and no sign at Hawkridge Res late afternoon.
