Meare Heath hide

Can anyone give me clear directions to Meare Heath please? I am planning a visit this afternoon and I have limited mobility. Has anyone seen the Beared Tits lately?

Re: Meare Heath hide

For bearded tits try from near the double seats along from the Ashcott Corner NE car park. The seats look north over Meare Heath but beardies are often active on 70 Acre Level which is the reed bed to the south. Listen for them in the first instance as they generally proclaim their presence by calling. It is very much a case of pot luck with these birds and others may suggest sites on Ham Wall.

Many thanks Sandra

Re: Meare Heath hide

2 Bearded Tits in reeds directly in front of Noah's hide mid morning, plus a Bittern briefly walking in the R.H reed bed and a drake Goldeneye flyby with 8 Pintail among the several hundred duck present. Distant Marsh Harrier and a G.W. Egret.
