A productive pm visit produced-the drake Long tailed duck,1 GN diver,1 juv drake Scaup,6 Red Crested Pochard,3 Goldeneye-2 drake 1 fem was told 5 present,all birds nr top end.
All present and correct today! Although a bit difficult to track down in the blustery conditions. Also 485 Pochard.
5 red crested pochard this morning, 3 goldeneye, 1 scaup. No sign of either long tailed duck or great n diver. Also a few gadwall and teal in with the pochard and tufted.
Highlights of a quick walk around were - 2 Drake Goldeneye (West side) and 3 Drake Red-Crested Pochard (East side). Yesterday at 10am.
Duck numbers down over the Christmas period. Best this morning were 3 Red-crested Pochard, 1 Goosander and 1 Goldeneye. Only 215 Pochard. Odd for the time of year was a Sparrowhawk in display.
To add to that, this afternoon had 4 red-crested potchard and drake goldeneye, as well as the male scaup all at the south end.
