My 1st winter Goosander Roost count at Wimbleball Lake Dam End 1600-1700 49 Redheads 11 Males 43 Cormrants,plus good numbers of Gulls heading in towards the sailing club area so may well be worth a vist.
Not a single Goosander at Cheddar this evening!
And none so far in Westhay Moor either. I did see some flying along the South Drain at Meare Heath 3 weeks ago but none since.
23 November 16.10-17.00 Goosander roost count this evening from the dam end at wimbleball produced: 11 male and 67 redheads (78 in total) also 29 cormorant along with a large number of gulls in front of the dam when almost dark and two tawny owls heard calling on the walk back to the car park
The first three of the winter at Cheddar this evening.
