Two ferruginous duck x pochard hybrids, together on Cheddar Reservoir this evening. The adult male is obviously a hybrid, but the juvenile female looks a lot more like a ferruginous duck. Both have mixed grey/white wingbars and [too-] extensive black bill tips.
Also present: 6 red-crested pochard (4 female, 2 male); c.3200 coot; 327 pochard; 89 mute swans and a little grebe. No goosander or goldeneye though.
