steart marshes toilets

Today we came to steart not only to find the Harrier, etc we also needed the loo.To our surprise aswell as many other people we found that the loo's were locked including the disabled ones.Really would like to know why?Its ok for the men folk but us women and those who need the disabled loo's had nowhere to go.Anyway so off we went to the hides, once again we found that the polden hide was shut but that was to do with the strong wind.......,off to the mendip hide to find that was locked aswell.REALLY no mention as to why so whats going on.We were very lucky to see the Harrier ,egrets lapwings, lovely display of golden plovers.A murmuration of starlings. Two kestrals hovering above ,but best of all was the pallid harrier, which soared over our heads, all we could hear were folks cameras shutting amazing.

Re: steart marshes toilets

Many thanks for your comment - apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately both the toilet and Mendip Hide were locked due to a misunderstanding by contracted staff who have been very apologetic for causing such a problem. This has now been rectified and normal service resumed Sunday morning! Please note though that the disability toilet always is always locked but is accessible through use of a RADAR key.

The wind damage to the Polden Hide is being investigated by the hide supplier this week and whilst we would like to reopen it to visitors unfortunately we also have to wait until this assessment has been done before we can allow people back in!
