Ham Wall / Shapwick

Groups of very obliging fledglings of garden warbler, treecreeper, bullfinch and spotted flycatcher today. Also, two bitterns and several GWEs. 2 kingfisher and a barn owl from Noah\'s hide around 4:30 (in the tin hut window) as well as a female bearded reedling feeding at least one young in the reeds quite close to the hide. One lapwing over Meare Heath seemed a bit out of season, and a single common redshank on a fence post to the right of the old railway bridge coming from the main car park.

Re: Ham Wall / Shapwick

There are usually a few Lapwing around Oliver. I counted a flock of 40 in flight from the railway line past Noah's lake last week and there are a small number that frequent the fields to the south of Decoy lake. There are usually 2 or 3 on the scrape.
