JASON CORNISH

TWO ON ROADSIDE WIRES BETWEEN THE ILCHESTER/STREET JUNCTION ON THE A372 AND CATSGORE VILLAGE NEAR THE "LARGE REHOME A HORSE TODAY SIGN" AT 16.15

Re: JASON CORNISH

19:20 hrs: Could well be a case of ‘hook-line-and-sinker’ as roadside wires were about as evident as Bee-eaters at this location – No Sign of either!!

Re: JASON CORNISH

Five were seen in Seaton yesterday. Out of county of course, but there could be a link with this sighting. See this blog for details http://stevesbirdingblog.blogspot.co.uk/

Re: JASON CORNISH

Great find Jason, and thanks for getting the news out on to this messageboard pretty quickly after your sighting - shame no-one picked it up for another hour and a half to broadcast it further!

Though there aren't any wires at the bottom of Brincil Hill by the sign, plenty of other wires nearby got a good grilling this evening. No sign of the birds, unfortunately.

Lots of Bee-eaters in the country at the moment, so I don;t expect they'll be the last in the county this month. Notoriously mobile and difficult to catch up with though - find your own seems to be the only way!
