Reed Bunting

Over the past week, I have observed on several occasions, a pair of reed buntings in our lane. Over the past 25 years I have only seen them twice before as garden visitors in periods of prolonged cold in winter. The area is not one that I would expect to see breeding birds, the nearest serious area of water probably being Dunster Marsh/Blue Anchor, about 3 miles in a straight line. There was however a large area of elephant grass (4 or 5 fields), which was unfortunately cut yesterday. Is there any chance that they could have been attempting to breed in these giant grasses?
