Seawatching

Off Burnham today between 12 and 2pm:

Pomarine Skua 4 (3 light and 1 dark phase) came in as a group from the north-west at 1215 and lost gaining height over Stert Island
Little Tern 5 lingering and fishing between the seafront and Stert Island
Arctic Tern 1
Sandwich Tern 1
Whimbrel at least 20 seen in small groups
Peregrine 1 immature hunting around Stert Island

Other observers around Bridgwater Bay over the high tide period saw singles of Arctic Skua, Black Tern, and Little Gull, 2 Common Terns, and good numbers of Manx Shearwaters and Gannets.

Seawatching conditions look good over the next few days, especially Friday and Sunday
