Cuckoo calling on rspb Walton west at 1830 this evening

Re: Cuckoo

A cuckoo just behind Noah's hide near the 70 Acres viewing screen this (thurs) morning at 1100 hrs, viewable from the double seat opposite the scrape.

Re: Cuckoo

Cuckoo briefly heard West Hatch parish, south of Taunton.

Re: Cuckoo

Cuckoo heard but not seen at Catcott Lows this morning, believed to be far left of the hide, a first for me this year

Re: Cuckoo

Rather late with this - sorry! Cuckoo heard to the north from Canada Drove, on and off for at least an hour around midday, Friday 18 April.

Re: Cuckoo

Heard a male calling all day at Meare Heath, then, on return to Ashcott Corner car park around 16.30, a calling male flew overhead, closely followed by another (female?).
Bittern was stalking the reeds at the back of the lagoon around 16.15. Good views of a dog otter (first for ages) and 2 GWEs from MH hide around lunchtime, also fly-past bittern and 2 GWEs landed in the pool in front of the hide.

Re: Cuckoo

First cuckoo calling in Aisholt Combe, Quantocks, this morning

For the last few years we have had 1 or 2 cuckoos every year on and around Aisholt Common and Middle Hill - it would have been very disappointing not to get any in the valley this year!

Re: Cuckoo

I heard 2 Cuckoos in Hodders Combe near Holford this morning. Also 2 Mistle Thrushes singing strongly.
