A trip around the "far west" produced :- Horner Woods: 3 Dippers including pair nest building; 2 Grey Wagtail; 2 Treecreeper; 2 GS Woodpeckers; 3 Marsh Tits Room Hill: 1 Great Grey Shrike; 1 Stonechat; 100 Golden Plover in flight. Larkbarrow/Madacombe: 270+ Golden Plover Good numbers of displaying Buzzards and "tumbling" Ravens No sign of the GGS at Triscombe Stone late afternoon - the only bird of note being a calling Tawny Owl at Bin Combe at dusk.
1445hrs 22/3 Tim Poat called me to say he's just seen a Male Hen Harrier fly down from the top of Dunkery and over the road close to the Cattle Grid and off towards Wheddon Cross.
