Re: Greylake Reserve

Thursday 20-03-2014.This mornings visit was to Greylake , a female marsh harrier at the rear of the reserve, not the one with the damaged leg ,a small flock of Teal present along with a few Shovelers,But it was a female Shoveler that drew my attention, the bird crawled across the water logged ground in front of the hide in a very low crouching position and then took to the water and swam off in a similar manner it was all but submerged ,has any of you more experienced Birders noted this behavior ? photos on website. At Tealham the dark Buzzard was again seen after an absence of several days, two Photos, front and rear elevations of this bird.

Re: Greylake Reserve

Interesting. I saw a Coot doing the same thing. Almost totally submerged. Something to do with courtship?
