A yellow-browed warbler was present at Bruton sewage works this afternoon, frequenting the ivy covered bushes on the north side of the site. The area is best viewed from the footpath that runs between the river and railway line at approx ST671339, accessed from Cole. The bird was about 15m past the fallen willow. Also 3 wintering chiffchaffs in the area.

After 1.5 hrs of looking and waiting, the Yellow-b Warbler appeared at around 12.00 hrs and showed fairly well for 10 mins, if a bit distant, in the medium height, ivy clad trees growing along the fence bordering the southern side of the sewage works, in front of the most westerly of the two round sprinkler beds. We were standing in Sunny Lane (the muddy lane which continues west after Gants Mill Lane ends at the sewage works entrance) looking directly down at this line of trees.
Also present were 2, maybe 3, Chiffchaffs, at least 6 Goldcrests, a Tree Creeper and a group of Long-t Tits.
