A few hours spent on a very blustery moor this morning.
One Buzzard.
A flock of 25 /30 Goldcrest Nr Kennels
A large flock some 100+ strong Redwing, the first such numbers that I have seen this winter.
Herons gathering at a field near kennels ,yesterday 12 along with similar numbers of Little Egrets , this morning Egret numbers had increased.
At the western end of Tealham a very large mixed flock of Starling,Lapwing, and some 100 Golden Plover. A few photos taken in poor light on website.

Golden Plovers amongst a large Flock of Lapwing, can be viewed from the North Drain bridge west side of Tealham Moor. The big surprise of the day a Kingfisher flew along the brook at the bottom of my garden!!!

Re: Tadham and Tealham Moors

Interesting you should report a garden kingfisher James - on the way home from school today my wife Suzanne and son George spotted a kingfisher on the surface of the road at the back of our house in Perry Road, Mark - it immediately flew up and away but not before giving George his first ever sighting of this beautiful bird. I missed it, of course!
