Hen Harrier

After standing in the Ashcott car park for almost 2 hrs this afternoon (very blowy) directing visitors to the Starlings, I was rewarded with a distant ring tail flying towards Shapwick Heath. That was it though. No other sightings of the harrier whilst walking back to the Avalon Marshes Centre.

(Not an awful lot of people around today.)

Bullfinch

This afternoon in the car park I spotted 3 Bullfinches high in a tree ham wall side of the road. They stayed for around 20mins then flew of with the c30 flock of Goldfinches that roost in the trees.

Re: Bullfinch

We walked the river from the Shapwick end of the reseve towards Catcott and there was a pair of Bullfinches showing well in the trees to the left.

Also two pairs of Stonechat from the gate where the path ends.
