Echoing a recent thread - other side of road from Greylake reserve car park (Kings Sedge Moor?) bursting with birds on the flooded land; fabulous sight and sound:
Several thousand Golden Plover (eg 3,000)
Several thousand Lapwing (eg 5,000), including the leucistic bird, white with brown breast-band and wing markings
About 200 Dunlin
12 Black-tailed Godwit
2 Ruff
19 Snipe
Several thousand Wigeon; plus Teal, Shoveler, Mallard
4 Buzzards, responsible for putting the waders up a few times; 1 Kestrel; 2 Ravens; 2 Stonechat
23-Jan-14
A short stop and brief scan (very cold wind) across flooded KSM, from the road-bridge opposite the fishermens car park, gave us 4 Ruff, including 2 white-headed males, 6 Black-t Godwits and 20+ Dunlin this afternoon.
