Iceland Gull & YBW

8-Jan-14
Birdguides shows a imm/juv Iceland Gull at Sutton Bingham Reservoir today. Also a Yellow-browed Warbler, still (for its 6th day) in trees by waters edge near car park.

Re: Iceland Gull & YBW

The Iceland Gull was around for about 10 minutes late afternoon yesterday, found by Tim Farr. Sadly, there was no repeat performance this evening.

Better news on teh Yellow-browed Warbler, though. It was in the line of trees between the car park (closed for the winter)and the church at 4.30pm, calling (which it doesn't do often) and showing well at about fence-top height. There are a number of ivy-covered trees there, as well as a couple of yews close by in the churchyard, so it probably roosts in this area.

Re: Iceland Gull & YBW

Yellow-browed present in the fir trees by the front of the church yesterday from 1:00 till 1:20pm. It eventually moved further up the drive and gave very close views and seemed mostly unbothered by my presence. Lost the bird around 1:30 when it was disturbed by a dog walker.

Re: Iceland Gull & YBW

YBW still in car park this afternoon.

Report on Birdguides as still present at Sutton Bingham Reservoir: Yellow-browed Warbler still showing well in trees on north side of car park mid-morning

As advised (thanks), I've now added this to its original message thread.
