Pair of Bullfinches on Cinnamon Lane, Glastonbury this afternoon, also several Goldcrest and single male Blackcap. Has anyone noticed a distinct lack of winter thrushes lately? Not a single one out on the levels today.

The winter thrush flocks disappeared as suddenly as they arrived in the Westhay area. It took them a month or so to clear the Hawthorns and since the beginning of December, there have only been ones and twos around.

Small flock of about 3 dozen winter thrushes in field by the Huntspill water board path this morning, mostly redwings, but one or 2 fieldfares spotted among them, also a few song thrushes and blackbirds.
