Green-winged Teal

Male on one of the pools near the Weston STW this morning. Of the four pools it was on the one nearest Uphill, that usually has very little on it! When I left it had swum into the reeds and was not visible. The Teal in the area are generally a bit flighty so it may get on the lower or upper estuary or on the other pools.
320+ Redshank, 370 Dunlin, 470 Lapwing and 6 Blackwit on the estuary. Three sightings of two Sparrowhawk hunting the waders, much like a Merlin, and a Peregrine.
Single Stonechat and a big flock of 200-300 Chaffinch feeding on the stubble.
