Aquatic Reed cutting machines have been deployed both on Meare Heath and Shapwick (Noah's Lake) this week. Most notably to us watchers is the view from Meare Heath hide is somewhat improved but having enquired of Nat. England I am told that further cutting to enlarge the area viewable from the hide will take place as soon as time allows! The 'Scrape' has been trimmed including the reed island at the rear and the encroaching reeds on the near LHS have been cut. Channel widening has been carried out on Noah's Lake.
