Early this afternoon in the Hospice Orchard / Farriers Green area, a seriously large flock of starlings which almost certainly numbered in the low thousands, although, given that they were highly mobile it is impossible to be precise. Also a single redwing present in this area. This is in fact the same area where, last winter, we had the major gathering of waxwings,(Roll on January),but it has to be pointed out that, due to an ongoing realignment of the road junction, parking is going to be difficult, however the Bathpool Inn is currently unoccupied so the car park there is free!
