Skua Movement

After yesterdays fog and drizzle holding up Skuas at Chew vally and the upper Channel it was a good bet with todays Easterly wind and clearer conditions our part of the Channel had to have some sort of Skua movement, but myself and Brian Gibbs could hardly believe our luck when 29 Bonxies 2 Arctic skua and a skua sp passed Hurlstone Point between 7.15-11am,the majority of which passed through by 8am.Other notable species included
1 Dark bellied Brent Goose
37 Pintail
20 Common Scoter
3 Auk sp
and a Porpoise working in close, also a constant stream 100s prob 1000s of Passerines were coming in off the sea most appeared to be Pipits plus a few Hirundines with a flock of 60 House Martins

A return trip 1400-1600 produced another 3 Bonxies
