Wall Common

Good numbers of Dunlin and Ringed Plover at Wall Common over this morning's high tide; mixed in with them were a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper, a moulting adult Little Stint, and a Turnstone. Mercifully little disturbacne this morning apart from one couple taking photos and a Peregrine which scattered the waders for a short while. Pleasing to report one responsible dog owner who kept his three dogs on a lead and went off in another direction specifically not to disturb us or the birds. If only more were like him.

Also 2 juv/1w White Wagtails and a few Skylarks - one of which was very short-tailed but sadly wasn't a Woodlark.

Re: Wall Common

Visit to Wall Common & Steart over Thursday lunch time high tide into the PM produced the above (no sign of Little Stint though), and also a few Wheatear, Linnets and Chats moving through. Large numbers of Swallows now also moving through.

A Kestrel was also a welcome and increasingly rarer sight (where have they all gone?)

Others of note:

Sparrowhawk
Curlew
Oystercatcher
Little Grebe

Re: Wall Common

Rog has just tweeted a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Grey Plover and 3 Greenshank on the incoming tide this morning.
