Whooper Swan at Noahs Lake

Quite a surprise this morning (19/6) to have a whooper swan pointed out to me on Noahs Lake at Shapwick.
The bird appeared to have a neck problem. Viewed from the rear there is a pronounced "kink" to the right on its neck. it was suggested that it may have a fisherman's hook lodged in its throat or that the problem is associated with lead poisoning.
Apart from that, the bird appeared happy to be in the company of a mute swan.

Whooper swan in field just SE of Catcott Reserve 13.00 21 06 - appeared uninjured and flew off westward, calling.
