Once Upon A Time,
There was nothing.
Oddly enough, most of it is still left.
To those of you who are wondering exactly the intent of this little Inn, you can see already that there is but a taproot of solid concept here; a sort of vague idea that has spread into millions upon millions of tendrils, few of which seem interconnected at all unless one follows them back through the miasmatic soil to the stalk. The ambience is tenebrous, but not intended to be...cliché or puerile.
Certainly you won't find the blatant childishness of plain red text on plain black background. Nothing here that ought to inspire candy-apple-blood; only the lovely rainbow colors. They agree with certain palettes; and disagree with others. Obviously, they agree with mine, which is why you see them here. I tend to please myself. I like suggestions, because I'm egotistical, but I don't follow them, because I'm egotistical.
Material posted in this forum are intended for the enjoyment of readers and viewers as well as authors and artists, the criteria are fairly high. This isn't fanfiction.net. It's not a place for those who fancy themselves writers, yet find nothing amiss with replacing a variety of words with inappropriate alphanumeric symbols. In other words, if your story has the word (and I use the term loosely) 'wut' (note: moronese for "what? Me stupid?") in it, don't post it, because more than likely, I, and most others are only going to ignore it, -or- we'll just make fun of you for being a dipwad. Yes, you're entitled to your own ignorance, but keep it to yourself.
The same goes for poetry. Chances are, if friends and family groan and shift in their respective (hopefully) seats whenever you mention your poetry, it isn't likely that anyone on the web wants to see it either-- unless, of course, the groaning and shifting is from fear, or from the spinal implants. Rhyming or unryhming is fine, although I admit to have a preference to the former. While I enjoy freeverse from time to time, the preponderance of such in poetry 'zines and on sites disgusts me in a way. Modern art is nice; but we need Raphael as well. Also, sad poetry is alright, but no one really cares about your miserable life in the middle-class suburbs with three balanced meals a day, even if you're terribly, terribly bored with the fact that all of your immediate family members are surviving and you've not gotten a new pair of baggie ass, pre-ruined jeans in four weeks. Think of it this way: If you wouldn't want to find it in a book, I don't want you posting it here, either. Put it on the fridge.
Also, I like reading reviews of various books, films, and music. Naturally, I enjoy giving bad reviews, but I like enjoying things as well. Odd, isn't it? I'm open to suggestions in this area; if there's a terrible or exceptionally brilliant film, book, or piece of music that you want to inform everyone of, please post about it.
Hopefully, you'll enjoy yourself, or you'll need therapy, both of which are amusing enough. You can drop a line if you want to comment, compliment, or insult. Keep in mind though, if you insult me, I'm going to make fun of you and probably post it on a seperate page of extremely stupid things that I think are funny. This is not because I'm some intellectual sadist, or because I'm vain and obnoxious-- it's because I tend to have a very high self-esteem at times. I can be very confident. So, watch yourself.
