I\'m just re-reading my collection of Jennings books at the moment (all 24 of them!) They are readily available on eBay if people want to complete their collections. These books still make me laugh out loud every time I read them, and I can\'t say that about many books. Anthony Buckeridge\'s beautiful style of writing was unique. I wrote to him once to thank him for all the pleasure he had brought me over the years and received a charming letter in reply. It\'s really good to find other Jennings fams out there! |

I am re-reading the Jennings books after many years, hoping to base my MA dissertation on them, and am continually surprised and delighted by how fresh the writing seems. Yes, the school experience portrayed is a long way from most children\'s experience, but the wit and the clever building up of farcical situations is as enjoyable as ever! |

Recently rediscovered Jennings books after a brief rest of 45 years. Funnier now than they were then, love these books so much. Great website, so good to see Jennings is still alive! |

Jennings et al came from such a wonderful world which I remember with great affection - over sixty years ago. I mourn its passing so much, for those were happy carefree days indeed. Regards to all. |

I read every Jennings book I could between ages of 9 to 12. I have memories of falling from the settee with laughter. Jack Carr\'s car jack anyone ? Very much regret not having made it the Edinburgh festival in 2001 to see Mr Buckeridge to thank him for hours of pleasure. |

So happy to stumble upon this agglomeration of Jennings aficionado\'s! I must have read each book dozens of times when I was a child and wish they hadn\'t gotten lost along the way as I\'m sure my boys would love them as much as I did. |

I would remind Jennings/AB/Linbury Court fans that the next annual Jennings meeting will take place on Saturday 29th June at The Quality Hotel, St. Albans, Herts. See the Linbury Court website for details. Devotees of the Jennings books (of all ages) also stay for the weekend in addition to the Saturday meeting to discuss and enjoy various aspects of AB's writing, meals together etc. We are a friendly bunch, aged from 12 to 92. Anthony Buckeridge's widow, Eileen, often attends. |

I was introduced to Jennings and Co at the age of 10 and would eagerly await Mr Buckeridge\'s next report on the Linbury Court School. I rather grew up with Jennings and now, fast approaching 60, still have very fond memories. I even have a few of the original books left despite many moves over the years. |

I just want to say thank you and congratulations to our new "webmasters", the father and daughter team Quentin and Amy, for all their hard work and time spent reviewing and updating the old Linbury Court website. A great result and very user friendly! Now it is up and running let's hope it gets lots of action . Thanks again. |

I have enjoyed years of reading and rereading the Jennings novels. I possess a collection which is almost complete. Now I am a Boarding Housemaster, teaching Geography in a small country prep school in Sussex - not quite Mr Carter (English) or Old Wilkie (Maths and Form 3) but nearly so. The stories are so apt and still true today! Long may Anthony Buckeridge's legacy live on. The core ideas of education and characterisation intertwined with humour, misadventure, misunderstandings and that 'wide awake, eleven year old' view on life is superb. |

Just to let people know that at 1pm this coming Friday (1 July '11) a blue plaque will be unveiled at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate, Kent, to commemorate Anthony and the birthplace of the Jennings stories. I know it's a bit last minute, but I'm sure any local Jennings fans will be more than welcome! |

I found this when browsing the internet after reading the article in today's Times by Giles Coren with a fictional account of Linbury Court's masters striiking with their union colleagues in state schools. I have written a suitable letter to the paper but it remains to be seen if it is published. I have beeen an AB/Jennings' fan for over 40 years. |

Great to find this site. I devoured the Jennings books while growing up in the 60s - they were really my introduction to good writing - and have re-read them on and off since, always with much delight. They don't seem to be known at all here in NZ - but I brought my set of hardbacks out with me and recently decided to give them another read-through! |

I really really love the early Jennings Books. The first 8 was translated to Danish. But after Jennings in Particular (Buckeridges favorit - I do not think this book is very good!) it went fast downhill. Long stories about boring adventures. And where is the humor with their friends? Kind regards from Mirko. |
