ABBA, esce il cofanetto "The Singles – The First Fifty Years"

Celebrato la scorsa primavera il cinquantesimo anniversario della vittoria all’Eurovision Song Contest del 6 aprile 1974 con “Waterloo” i festeggiamenti per gli ABBA non sono ancora finiti. Il prossimo 25 ottobre Polar Music International pubblica il cofanetto di singoli “A-side”, "The Singles – The First Fifty Years". La compilation riunisce per la prima volta non solo tutti i singoli degli ABBA pubblicati da Polar fino al 1982 ma anche quelli tratti dall’ultimo album "Voyage" (leggi qui la recensione) del 2021.



Il doppio album del 1982 "The Singles – The First Ten Years" viene quindi 'aggiornato' con tutti i singoli pubblicati dalla band dal 1972 al 2022. Disponibile in Box 4LP e Box 2CD, "The Singles – The First Fifty Years" è un viaggio nella musica della band svedese a partire dal singolo di debutto del gruppo "People Need Love" (1972) fino a "No Doubt About It" (2022). Il cofanetto, 38 brani, include canzoni quali "SOS", "Mamma Mia", "Fernando", "Dancing Queen", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Take A Chance On Me", "Chiquitita", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Super Trouper”, “One Of Us”, “Don't Shut Me Down” e altri ancora.


"The Singles – The First Fifty Years" contiene anche quattro brani non pubblicati come singoli da Polar Music in tutto il mondo: "Hasta Mañana", "Angeleyes" (un doppio lato A con "Voulez-Vous" in alcuni paesi), "Lay All Your Love On Me" e "When All Is Said And Done". Il box include anche un libretto con note di copertina firmate da Carl Magnus Palm.
