Charter Statement

Bringing together and facilitating communication between former Alaska State Legislators in a forum that will allow the sharing of our experiences and our sense of legislative history (stories) as members of an exclusive “group” that has had the privilege of serving the people of Alaska as lawmakers and shapers Alaska’s history.

FOSSILS is a nonpartisan mutual support group open to any former legislator who served through an appointment or election. All Alaska Territorial Legislators shall be recognized and granted status as State FOSSILS emeritus.

Therefore let it be known that the Organization symbol shall be the official state fossil, “Wooly Mammoth” as set forth in Alaska State statutes, per former State Senator Betty Fahrenkamp.

Museum chapters maybe formed and operated under this charter with a request for formation sent to the current curator and a subsequent approval authorization proclamation from foresaid Curator.
