TNA issued the following statement on their website:
Chris Park (a.k.a. "Abyss") is no longer with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. TNA Wrestling wishes him luck in his future endeavors.
Through independent research, The Mayhem has found out that Abyss' contract is set to expire on January 30th. Once that day hits (ironically enough -- the day of the Royal Rumble), he would be free to negotiate with World Wrestling Entertainment and my guess is they would sign him up.
They may make a play to get him to agree to remain with the company. They are in a position where they have invested time into his character (and into licensing it through action figures and T-shirts).
Abyss and Jeff Jarrett are also both scheduled for tomorrow's Cyberspace Wrestling Federation event in Wayne, New Jersey as well.
After Jeff Hardy defeated Scott Hall at TNA's Final Resolution PPV, Abyss came out from nowhere and gave Hardy the Black Hole Slam. Remember, before Abyss' run-in with TNA management a few weeks ago, it was slated to be Abyss vs Hardy at the PPV.
