TNA star Hector Garza (Hector Solano Segura) was arrested Monday in Houston, Texas on charges of possession of a controlled substance, which according to Mexican newspaper El Norte were anabolic steroids Primobolan and Deca-Durabolin, which is used to regenerate injuries and to fortify muscle tissue.

Garza, on his way to the TNA Impact! tapings in Orlando, Florida, was detained by Immigration agents at the IAH Houston Airport. Garza was placed under arrest and appeared in court yesterday in Houston. He is currently being held in a Harris County, Texas jail.

Garza’s brother Humberto told El Norte that the steroids were prescribed by a local doctor in Mexico, who overnighted the proof to the Mexican Consulate in Houston, so it can be turned into the court in Garza's defense. Humberto stated that Garza was being counseled by a personal attorney, while TNA was sending one as well. Garza’s bail was set at $1,000 but he was advised not to pay it for fear of being deported, which would destroy his Stateside career.

Garza, billed as the leader of Team Mexico, recently returned to TNA. Under new booker Dusty Rhodes, he was expected to receive a healthy push and had main evented Impact! recently against Scott Hall. His problems caused rewrites at the TNA taping on Tuesday evening, where the wrestlers were told he had “travel issues.”

The Houston Chronicle has just posted an update on the arrest of Hector Solano Segura, a.k.a. Hector Garza, who remains in Harris County (TX) jail.

The piece quoted TNA public relations manager Brad Bernstein, who said, "TNA Entertainment does not condone the use of any illegal substance by an independent contractor or employee of the company. Hector (Segura) and his attorney are anxious to proceed with the case and prove Hector's innocence. We look forward to his return."

Saturday's edition of El Norte in Mexico featured an update on TNA star Hector Garza's arrest and incarceration for possession of a controlled substance while entering the United States in Houston, Texas on Monday evening.

The newspaper quoted Garza's brother, Humberto Jr., saying the prosecutors in Texas had contacted Doctor Jose Luis Banda, who had sent a copy of the prescription he had written for Garza to the Mexican consulate in Texas, in order to prove that Garza had a legitimate prescription for the steroids he was arrested for. Humberto claimed that the prosecutors questioned the purpose of the prescription and the length of time Garza was supposed to be using the steroids. Dr. Banda declined to comment to El Norte.

Humberto said that after a telephone conversation with Garza during the week, he was confident he would be released on Monday or Tuesday. They were going to speak after the weekend as the jail Harza was being held in does not allow weekend calls.

El Norte in Mexico reported on Tuesday that Hector Garza's meeting with the court this past Monday was postponed until yesterday, as two of the prosecuting District Attorneys were unable to make the meeting. Garza's lawyer is attempting to get him released on bail without the threat of deportation before the charges are resolved.

Garza's brother Humberto described him as, "restless", knowing that he lost his TNA match on the PPV Sunday against Scott Hall due to the situation. TNA officials made the call to replace Garza with Jeff Hardy at this Sunday's Final Resolution Pay-Per-View.

Re: Hector Garza Arrested For Drug Posession En Route To TNA Impact! Tapings

Thanks to PWInsider.com for updates:

TNA star Hector Garza was freed without bail, as the judge presiding over his case ruled that the nine days he had been incarcerated covered the set bail of $1000. Garza’s counsel, Thomas Mora, is petitioning to have Garza allowed to travel to Orlando, Florida for the Final Resolution PPV and returning to Houston immediately afterwards. If that isn’t allowed by the court, Garza is expected to be deported out of the country on Friday. Should he be deported before the charges are resolved, it is expected that it will be some time before he is allowed to work in the United States again.

Garza was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, which turned out to be anabolic steroids Primobolan and Deca-Durabolin. Garza was carrying two bottles, containing 28 grams. When asked by immigration agents if he was carrying any medication, Garza indicated that he was and presented the bottles in question.

Since he was not carrying a prescription and the medication was not in the original packaging, the call was made to put Garza into custody. In Mexico, medication is supposed to be sold in the original packaging, so someone had to make the effort in changing it over to different bottles.

Hector Garza is still in Houston, TX, as he is waiting for another court hearing, this time to plead his case to have his travel and work visas reinstated.

Should he leave the country without at least having a hearing set, Garza could be turned away at the border for the next ten years. Garza isn't being held but is under "supervision" according to El Norte in Mexico.

The odds of Garza appearing at tomorrow night's TNA Final Resolution Pay-Per-View appear to be very slim right now.

Hector Garza is expected to be deported from Houston, TX and transported back to Mexico shortly according to El Norte in Mexico. Garza, currently free but under supervision in Texas, is waiting to be informed that he will be sent back. There is no set time period as to when he will be returned to his home country.

Garza is attempting to settle his legal issues stemming from his arrest for possession of a controlled substance on January 3rd. If he is unable to succesfully appeal the deportation within the next 30 days, he'll be barred from entering the United States legally for the next decade.
