My dad served on the Kitty Hawk during Vietnam. I've been trying to confirm the ships logo so I can get a tattoo honoring his service and show how much he means to me without him knowing. Is it http://www.gonzosgarage.net/gonavy/images/cv63_kittyhawk_insig.jpg? I just want to make sure. Thank you.
Garrett go to navsource.org and click on aircraft carriers then Kitty Hawk there is a picture of the logo on the top of the page. The only thing is what time your father was on the ship I believe if it was before 1972 it was CVA 63 after it was changed to CV 63.
I just checked it was changed to CV on Apr. 29 1973 so if your father was on board before that date it was CVA 63.
